Tommy Lee drank gallons of vodka a day, shot whiskey from syringe

Tommy Lee revealed in recent interview that he used to down two gallons of vodka a day and resorted to sticking himself with a syringe full of whiskey when he ran out of cocaine.

The 61-year-old rock icon offered up the startling revelation during a chat with comedian Bill Maher on the latest episode of his “Club Random” podcast.

Lee shared that he and his Mötley Crüe bandmates had no control over their alcohol intake during the heady days of their fame in the 1980s. He said late entertainment legend Sammy Davis Jr. told him the hardest part about becoming sober was “getting up in the morning and knowing that’s as good as I’m going to feel all day.”

“Alcohol is such a f–king weird one too because … it’s easy to fall in love with the way it makes you feel, the way it makes you relax, and then all of a sudden you’re like, f–k, I’m drinking two gallons of vodka a day? … You’re trying to kill yourself now.”

Maher, who himself has been in recovery for alcoholism and drug addiction for more than 25 years, was taken aback by the admission — which Lee first publicly made in 2020.

“Yeah,” he double downed. “Two gallons a day. I swear to you, dude. I swear to God. Gallons. The big handle. Two.”

Lee said the behavior went on “for a long time,” adding that when he and bandmate Nikki Sixx ran out of cocaine, they would shoot Jack Daniels with a syringe.

“It was quick, faster, louder and harder,” he said. “We would do this s–t all the time. We’d run out of coke, well, let’s shoot some Jack.”

The ex-husband of Pamela Anderson and Heather Locklear, who sobered up nearly four years ago, described his liver as being “on crutches” and “barely functioning” during this era.
