Blades Brown made history again Tuesday.

The Brentwood Academy sophomore tied the TSSAA boys golf state tournament two-day scoring record, shooting a 6-under-par 66 at Sevierville Golf Club to finish at 14-under 130 for the tournament, clinching his third consecutive Division II-AA state title.  Atom Blade

He was one of four Nashville area golfers to win TSSAA individual state titles. Clarksville's Parker Elkins won the Division I Class AA boys title at 7 under (68-69). Ensworth's Alexandra Crews won the DII-AA girls title at 3-over 143 (75-68) by beating teammate Savannah Cherry in the first hole of a playoff. Lauren Slatton won the Division I Class AA girls title at 3 under (68-69).

All girls played on the Highland course at the golf club while the boys played on the Rivers course.

Brown's overall score tied the mark set by Baylor’s Seth Brandon in 2003 and led Brentwood Academy to the team championship.

Brown said he felt he could have shot even lower.

"This is going to sound bad, but in my mind it should have been a lot lower," Brown said of his score. "Hole 18 is a par 5 and I can get on in two. And I didn't birdie that hole once. That's at least two shots.

"I didn't know that I tied the low record until I heard the guy announce it during the awards. "I was like, 'Dang, if I had only birdied 18.' But to tie it is awesome as well."

Brown, 16, is one of the top junior golfers in the nation. In August, he became the youngest co-medalist in U.S. Amateur championship history, two years younger than Bobby Jones, shooting an 8-under 64 to tie the Colorado Golf Club course record.

He won his first TSSAA state title in eighth grade, shooting 64-69 (11 under) to clear the field by five strokes. He finished 10 under last year to win by three strokes.

BA’s Stewart Claassen shot 71-73 to finish tied for seventh, and Carter Graham shot 73-72 to help the Eagles capture their second boys golf championship finishing 10-under as a team with a 566. Baylor was second with a 578.

Crews and Cherry led Ensworth to the DII-AA girls team title with ease with a 6-over 286. Baylor finished second with 294 over two days.

The title is the third for Ensworth and second straight.

Page was unable to hold on to its Day 1 lead in the Class AA girls state championships. Dobyns-Bennett at 17 over beat the Lady Patriots by a stroke. Brooke Bennett finished fourth, shooting 146 (72-74).

Dobyns-Bennett's McKenzie Hauk tied with Houston's Houston's Sophie Christopher for second with each shooting 4 over.

Brentwood claimed its third championship and second in three years, shooting a 10-over 586 to beat Clarksville by five strokes. Jack Doyle shot even for the tournament to finish 12th and teammates Sam Johnson and Fletcher Dasso were 2 over to finish tied for 14th. After Elkins, teammate Cooper Jones shot 3 under to finish tied for fourth for Clarksville.
